State Club venue for emotional match

GAINSBOROUGH'S The State Club will be the venue for a county darts match this weekend when Lincolnshire take on Hertfordshire.

It will be an emotional and sad occasion as one of the county's most treasured players and committee members, Earl Gash (pictured right), lost his fight against cancer on 1st February at Lincoln County Hospital after a very short illness aged 40 years.

Earl worked tirelessly for the county darts scene, travelled extensively at home and abroad to play the sport and was this year's Lincolnshire representative in the England Men's Singles which he won.

Lincolnshire darts send their condolences to his wife Shelley, daughter Layla and son Jordan.

This weekend's match, which starts at noon on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, will be dedicated to the memory of Earl.
