Andrew Stothard with his new book about Gainsborough Trinity G121023-1c

A GAINSBOROUGH Trinity supporter hopes to help promote the club’s standing in the town, through his new book.

Andrew Stothard, 44, has penned his second book on the Blues, entitled Trinity - the Football League Years (1896-1912).

The car park attendant has been a Trinity fan for 35 years, and is proud of the club’s history.

He told the Standard: “I just want to tell people we’ve got a football team in the town that used to be in the league, and played against a lot of the teams who are big clubs now.”

“Hopefully it can help promote the club in Gainsborough.”

Andrew will be selling his book on a market stall in the town centre on Saturday and Tuesday on Silver Street.
