Parish Church School recently celebrated their first sporting success of the academic year when they became Large Schools Seven-a-side Football Champions for this season.

New teacher and football manager Mr J. Anderson was delighted that the team had found their feet so quickly. “This team and I have only been training together for the past few weeks, so to gain runners-up in the overall competition and be the best Large School is all credit to the players.”

“Our brand of attacking football and short passing skills are a delight to see and the signs look good for the future. Parish has a long history of sporting excellence and we will do all we can this year to maintain a high level of participation, sportsmanship and achievement.”

Team captain Luke Crossley was overjoyed that the team would be going on to the next stage of the competition, organised by the English Schools’ Football Association.

“It will be even harder in January but we are confident that we can do well.”
