Little: "I gambled too early"

BRIAN Little admitted he gambled too early in Trinity's 3-1 loss at home to Stamford Rangers on Saturday.

A first-half strike from Levi Reid and two second-half goals from Warwick Alexander sunk the Blues, who grabbed a late consolation through Luke Beckett's penalty.

The defeat leaves Gainsborough on the brink of dropping back into the relegation zone having now played up to two games more than teams below them.

Little told the Standard he made a tactical error in switching formation after the first goal and took responsibility for Trinity's second half collapse.

He said: "We conceded a poor goal, I changed the system and they've caught us out on two occasions.

"I think we struggle playing 4-4-2 and leave ourselves open for the counter. With three centre backs, we look more solid and don't give the opposition many chances."
