Leeds United the visitors tonight

GAINSBOROUGH Trinity manager Brian Little says he will stick to his plan of rotating players ahead of three warm-up games in six days on the Northolme.

Trinity face Leeds United tonight (7.30pm) in their first match of pre-season before hosting Brigg Town on Saturday and Grimsby Town on Tuesday.

Little told the Standard this evening's curtain raiser will give his players valuable game time.

"We look upon it as being part of training," he said.

"Irrespective of the result, it's a case of giving people a set amount of playing time."

Several trialists have been training with Gainsborough during pre-season.

When asked if any of them would feature in the games, Little replied: "Quite possibly."

"There are two or three lads in with us at the moment and we'll have a look at them."

Although the Trinity boss has virtually a full squad to choose from for the upcoming friendlies, he admits an intensive pre-season has taken its toll.

"We've had a couple of occasions where people have missed training with a sore hamstring and little things like that."

Little concluded by saying: "I have a pre-set idea of how many minutes different people will have on the pitch.

"But the most important thing is to be ready for the opening game of the season."
