Hodson is racing away with the 250 GP Championship
Ant Hodson has extended his lead in the National 250GP Championship after another podium finish, this time at the British Moto GP at Silverstone.
The mdj racing-backed rider from Saxilby is now 38 points clear at the top of the table after round nine, with five races remaining.
He qualified third fastest on Saturday but a poor tyre choice gave the track ace just five good timed laps in qualifying before the rear tyre started spinning up.
Race day saw Ant get off to a steady start off the grid, squandering his front row position to come in sixth on the first lap.
But he began pulling through the field on the TSM Yamaha TZ250 and set about catching the front three who had broken away.
Ant started and finished the last lap in second place - one second behind race leader and victor Andy Sawford.
"The team's very happy with the result," said Ant.
"We came away leading the championship with 38 points and we've got five races remaining."
