LYNX Black Belt Leadership Academy will host its first martial arts competition on Saturday, supporting the Bassetlaw Games.

The inter-house event will take place at the Retford Academy, on Exchange Street, and will run throughout the day from 11am to 5pm.

Master Blinston and Rachel Blinston, the school owners, will run the competition and are hoping for a full of spectators.

Anyone interested in the event, which will have patterns, sparring, free style, one step sparring and board break categories, should call 01777 700252 to reserve their place.

Other Bassetlaw Games events this month include gymnastics fun days at Worksop Gym Club (Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm), a cycle about Clumber Park on Saturday 18th February, Bassetlaw Swimming Festival at Worksop Leisure Centre on 26th February (10am) and a junior basketball taster session held by Retford Raiders at Retford Oaks Academy on 28th February (5pm to 7pm).
