Trinity have lost their last four matches and the board confirmed that club skipper Dominic Roma will replace Housham until the end of this season.

The National League North side confirmed the news on Thursday evening.

Chairman Richard Kane released a short statement on the club’s website, saying: “We as a club and I personally, would like to thank Steve for his efforts over the years and wish him all the best for the future.

The statement added that “following a frank and open discussion between the two men, it was agreed that the time was right to make the change.”

Housham managed over 200 games as Trinity chief and achieved a host of impressive feats at the helm, including memorable wins over Wrexham, good showings against local rivals Boston and even hosting Football League side Shrewsbury Town earlier this season in a televised FA Cup tie.

Roma, formerly of Sheffield United, now takes over and will have to try and rally the troops ahead of Saturday’s home game against Nuneaton.

Trinity are currently 13th - seven points above the relegation zone.
