Five in the top 10

FIVE Bassetlaw junior orienteers achieved top 10 finishes at Sunday’s Thieves Wood event.

The snow covered forest attracted a large number of runners from all over the Midlands.

RESULTS

White Course: 1st Tom Cooley, 2nd Emma Wright.

Yellow Course: 2nd Ryan Wright, 3rd Jodie Wright.

Orange Course: 4th Eleanor Cooley, 11th John Cooley, 12th Cameron Ridgway, 16th Fraser Ridgway.

Light Green: 14th Alexander Ridgway.

Green Course: Helen Parkinson 19th, Oonah Ridgway 58th.

Blue Course: Will Parkinson 4th, Paul Beresford 21st, Robert Parkinson 29th, Andrew Ridgway 51st, Graeme Huggan 72nd.

Next weekend sees Bassetlaw’s orienteers competing on Cannock Chase in the regional round of the Compass Sport Cup, which is a team competition leading to a national final later in the year.
