Here is the long-range shortlist of tips for all 27 Cheltenham festival races by your resident racing expert, Richard ‘Scoop’Silverwood.

Freelance journalist Silverwood is a semi-professional punter, tipster, form student, race-reader, analyst and columnist.

He travels the length and breadth of the country watching racing. This will be the 31st consecutive Cheltenham Festival he has attended without missing a single race.

His main fancies are accompanied by alternative selections. This is because many running plans have yet to be finalised, and also because the Festival is so competitive that it often pays to back more than horse per race, maybe each/way. All named horses are potential winners.

For an eve-of-meeting update on Silverwood’s tips, visit this website from midnight on Sunday.
