After last week’s cup heroics, Gainsborough Trinity Under 16s were back in league action against fourth placed Dale Park.

And after a full first half, Trinity cut loose to pick up a 3-0 win.

Neither side really troubled the opponent’s keeper before the break, and it wasn’t until the second period that Trinity began to show their recent form.

The deadlock was broken when a well worked free-kick was steered home by Spencer Robson .

Trinity quickly doubled their lead with top scorer Tom Williams finishing smartly from inside the area.

Dale Park kept working hard and had a couple of long range efforts and numerous corners.

But Trinity protected their clean sheet and wrapped the game up in the closing moments with the goal of the game, a sweet cross from Man of the Match Adam Bush brought down by skipper Jack Weatherell who fired across goal into the corner of the net.

Trinity are back in cup action this Sunday at Crosby.
