Gainsborough Trinity Under 16s cruised into the quarter-finals of the Under 16s cup with a 13-2 victory over Crosby United.
The home side actually took the lead when a clearance from Trinity’s keeper struck the advancing Crosby forward and rebounded into the net.
It wasn’t long before Trinity got into their stride, however, finding the net eight times in the opening half.
Tom Williams was Crosby’s tormentor in chief, scoring four times before the break.
Daniel Krakow added a brace, and there was one each from Adam Bush and Keatan Gale .
It was much of the same in the second half but as in the first half it was Crosby who scored first with a shot from close range.
After that it was all Trinity, scoring five more times through Krakow, Gale, Bush, Alex Walshaw and Ewan Miles – the latter pair opening their accounts for the season.
Trinity’s next fixture is at home in the league to Bottesford Falcons on 16th November.
