Centre-half Kern Miller has given Worksop Town’s defensive core a boost, by agreeing to re-sign for the club.
The 21-year-old, who made 41 appearances and scored three goals for Tigers last season, was welcomed back to the club with open arms by new boss Mark Shaw.
The manager told the Guardian: “Kern has agreed to re-sign for the club, which is good news.”
“He strengthens our defensive line and makes the centre-half position look competitive.”
“With Luke Shiels coming back from injury next year, we’ll have four very strong, young centre-halves to work with.”
Miller and Tigers are back in pre-season training this weekend, with sessions on both Saturday and Sunday.
But Shaw has already had many of his footballers on the pitch.
He explained: “We’ve brought players in once a week to get them playing football with each other, so they get to know each other, gel, and get to know what we’re looking for and the message we want to get across.”
