Macedonia link baffles Brian Little

REPORTS linking Brian Little to the vacant Macedonia job have come as a surprise to the former Aston Villa boss.

The Gainsborough Trinity manager told the Standard: “It’s news to me at this moment in time.”

“I don’t know where this story has come from.”

“Over the years I’ve made a lot of contacts over there, and signed a couple of Yugoslavian players.”

The Football Federation of Macedonia fired manager Mirsad Jonuz last month, following a series of poor results in Euro 2012 Qualifying Group B.

Little is on the verge of his third season in charge on the Northolme.

After two disappointing campaigns he has put together a new-look squad for the 2011/12 Blue Square Bet North season, with an emphasis on younger players.
