Housham ready for upheaval

Steve Housham is prepared to completely overhaul his Gainsborough Trinity squad, if he has to.

The manager has offered new deals to all but a few of the players who graced the blue jersey in the latter stages of last season.

But he concedes that no one is likely to put pen to paper this early in pre-season, and is keeping an open mind about the look of the 2014/15 squad.

“There’s no news on players yet,” he said.

“We sat down last week and offered them deals, but whether or not they will be good enough we’ll have to wait and see.”

“No one will be saying yes yet, there’s loads of clubs out there.”

“But there are loads of players out there, I’ve spoken to numerous lads, I’ll get a lot of CVs coming through and if it needs upheaval to make a new squad I might have to do that.”

Once Housham has arranged the pre-season schedule he’ll be taking a well deserved summer break, ahead of Trinity’s return to training on 26th June.

Before that however he and the squad will mark the season just gone with the annual presentation evening on Saturday at the Blues Club, starting at 7.30pm and including a race night.
