Gainsborough Trinity have moved into eighth position in the National League North, after a 2-0 win over strugglers Hednesford Town.

The Blues made it two victories in a week, following their midweek triumph over Brackley Town.

It wasn’t until the 72nd minute that Trinity took the lead, Simon Russell grabbing the first.

And with 10 minutes remaining centre-half Jake Picton made the points safe.

Steve Housham’s men have no game in midweek, ahead of next Saturday’s visit of promotion hopefuls Solihull Moors.
