Gainsborough Trinity boss Steve Housham admitted his side lacked the necessary quality after they were beaten 2-0 at Worcester City.

The defeat ended a run of three consecutive wins which had seen Trinity climb into the top ten of the Conference North table.

A goal in each half from the hosts was enough as they picked off Trinity twice on the counter attack.

Housham said: “We are disappointed but we have to pick ourselves up. We huffed and puffed today but there was a lack of quality really in the difficult conditions.”

“The first goal was a killer blow as we were defending great. We gambled from a throw in and they got on the break and scored. Up until then I thought we were having some half decent chances in their box. Second half we changed it a bit and they scored late on, could have possible got two or three more but we were trying to get something out of the game.”

“It could have been a different story if Jarman had put away that chance to make it one all and if so i think we could of gone on to win the game.”

“It was a boring game and I would say neither team came to life in the whole game. The wind spoils football as a whole and is the one condition the kills the game of football. We just did not have that quality we have had in recent weeks and that bit of luck too.”
