Gainsborough Trinity Under 16s reached their second cup semi-final in a week, coming back from two goals down to beat Cleethorpes Town 6-2.

The visitors were two up inside the opening 10 minutes with two smart finishes, but that seemed to spur Trinity into life.

The defecit was halved when Jack Weatherell rose at the back post to head home an Adam Bush corner.

The hosts got back on level terms when Bush scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Weatherell, and moments later a shot from Tom Williams was only parried by the keeper and Ben Turver made it 3-2.

In the second half Trin extended their lead with Williams slotting home, and the game was over as a contest when Williams set up Ewan Miles to make it 5-2.

The Trinity defence of Mckay, Bush , Turver and Spencer Robson stood firm and keeper Josh Brockett dealt with long range efforts .

Keatan Gale produced an excellent overhead kick to ice the cake for Trinity.

This Sunday Trinity are back in league action when they entertain Epworth at Roses playing field with a 12.15pm kick-off.
