Three generations of Gainsborough cyclists are doing a 100-mile cycle ride from Gainsborough to Nottingham City Hospital and back, to raise cash for Nightingale Ward at the hospital.
Keith Norton (53), Matthew Hindmarsh and 13-year-old Liam Hindmarsh are making the journey because in March 2010 Keith’s daughter, Matthew’s wife and Liam’s mother, 29-year-old Carly Hindmarsh was diagnosed with a potentially fatal infection.
No doctor could find out what the problem was until the mother of five spent over a year under the care of Dr Venkatessent and his team at City Hospital, Nottingham.
Matthew and Liam are both members of Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club and the Cyclist’s Touring Club (CTC) and the ride will be undertaken with fellow club members on Monday 7th May.
