GAINSBOROUGH athletes Norman Hindley and Ian White travelled to Doncaster last Wednesday (17th June) for the first Sandal Beat Woods 10k off road event.
The race was held by Doncaster AC.

On a warm, dry evening the pair were neck and neck at four miles.

But Ian pushed on to finish in 48 minutes and 23 seconds while, hot on his heels, Norman crossed the line in a time just under 49 minutes.

The following Sunday (21st June) they both competed in the Three Lakes Classic at Rother Valley Country Park near Sheffield, an event hosted by Killamarsh Kestrels.

This is a tough 15-mile off road run and, on a hot sunny day, the pair used the race as a good training session and ran round together.

They finished in two hours 20 minutes.

Yesterday (Wednesday) the duo were due to race again, this time in a 8.5k run in Sherwood Forest near Edwinstowe.
