AFTER four weeks of the second phase of the season little separates the top three teams in either of the two divisions.

GAINSBOROUGH AND DISTRICT TABLE TENNIS LEAGUE

In Division One Co-op Eagles remain top despite being held to a draw by third-placed Liberal Meteors.

Second in the table Blues Club Corinthians had a comfortable 10-0 victory over Liberal Dynami
cs who are finding things difficult during their first season in this division.

Liberal Beacons managed to scrape a 6-4 victory over VTF Warriors.

In Division Two a two-man Blues Club Phoenix could do nothing to stop Liberal Branch Dynamoes claim an 8-2 win and top spot in the table.

Knaith Park Knights also recorded an 8-2 victory, this one against Co-op Bluebirds, and it puts them behind Dynamoes but only on rubber averages.

Blues Club Kestrels claimed their first victory of the second phase with a good 9-1 win over Methodist Batmen, Ben Marriot claiming Barmen's solitary rubber.

The semi-final draw in the Calcutta Cup competition is: Blues Club Kestrels v Co-op Bluebirds and GYM Batmen v Knaith Park Knights. Handicaps will be decided shortly.

The league's annual closed championships take place on Sunday 7th March starting at 9.15am in the main sports hall at the Queen Elizabeth's High School.

This event will include the lads from the Inter-School League holding their own tournaments. Spectators are very welcome to attend.
