SUN Inn Tuxford are the new Gainsborough and District Football League champions.
They clinched the Division One title after beating rivals Harworth Colliery 1-0 away and are unbeaten in the league so far.
Harworth have the chance of the runners-up spot but they need to win their remaining two matches to finish above AFC Friendsh
ip.
In Division Two East Drayton remained on course for the title with a fine 4-1 victory at Wroot while Morton Amateurs, who did not play on Saturday, are four points behind with a game in hand.
Marshalls Sports did well to beat Bridon AFC 2-0 away to keep up the pressure on the top two.
Results for Saturday Aopril 26: Division One - Harworth Colliery 0, Sun Inn Tuxford 1; Ye Olde Sun v Rampton Hospital (not played); AFC Friendship v White Lion (not played). Division Two - Wroot 1, East Drayton 4; Bridon AFC 0, Marshalls Sports 2; Wheelie Old Boys v Jack and Jill (not played).
Fixtures for Saturday May 3 (kick-off 2.45pm): Division One - Harworth Colts v AFC Friendship; Barley Mow FC v Harworth Colliery; Ye Olde Sun FC v White Lion. Division Two - Wheeli OB v Saxilby Athletic; East Drayton v Jack and Jill; Wroot v Bridon AFC; Elm Cottage v Marshalls Sports; Morton Amaateurs v Epworth Town.
Monday May 5 (kick-off 6.30pm): Division One -- Rampton Hospital v Harworth Colliery.
