The All Blacks asked Barton for a reversal of the home and away fixtures which was agreed and then the referee was unable to attend due to ill health.
There had to be some changes to personel because the change of venue meant that some players were
not available for the 12.30 meet.
Gainsborough started in their customary style up and at the opposition but they do lack the scoring touch when they have done all the hard work, and Barton ground the All Blacks down and scored twice to go in at half-time 14-0 in front.
Barton had the slope and wind advantage for this second half and they made the advantage tell and quickly scored three tries at the beginning. But in usual All Blacks style with these young men back they came and first Dodsley and then Bond broke through the home defence to touch down, both tries were converted by Shaun Parker.
Barton did manage to score another try at the end of the game to make the final score 36-14 and another good performance with the Man of the Match award going to Mark Waterland, well supported by the every reliable Humphrey who tackles all day and Shaun Parker who is now one of the more experienced players in this squad.
