Mixed weekend for Rose hockey teams

ROSE Hockey Club's league season is now well under way and the ladies' first team played there third league game of the season at Peterborough.
They were unfortunate not to come away with a point, losing 2-1 with Alex Bates their scorer.
Lizzie Arnold and Jaz Bixley went close to equalising but Roses left with their heads held high but with no points.
The ladies second team were hosting th
e first ladies derby of the season against local rivals Lincoln and again they were unfortunate to lose 2-1 with Izzy New scoring their only goal of the game.
The men's firsts had two games this weekend, on Saturday posting a stunning 5-1 victory against Leeds with goals from Johnson, Dewhurst (two), Laverick and Koch, while Sunday saw another victory against Hull University this time a 6-1 hammering for the visitors. Goals came from Dukes (two), Knowles (two), White and Davies.
The men's seconds travelled to Leeds on Saturday knowing a tough challenge was ahead.
Things took a turn for the worse in warm-up when Lynch pulled a muscle so captain Wadsworth had a few changes to make to his starting eleven.
However, they ran out 3-2 winners with goals from A. Dukes, Sheppard and Chambers.
The thirds completed a good weekend for the men with a home victory against Harrogate with goals from Woodhouse, Smith and Cook.
The men's fourth team had no game but next week all six teams will be in action.
