The Australian has been hailed as the club's best ever player by his team-mates and is the leading points-scorer this season.
However, van den Heuvel told the Standard that the secret to his team's success has been the commitment and performances
of each player.
"We're not a one man team," said the Marshalls' first team captain.
"Everybody is contributing each week which makes a big difference because we're not just relying on one player."
The club won again at the weekend when they beat bottom side Papplewick & Linby II by 109 runs.
The victory stretched Marshalls' winning streak to 11 consecutive league games and moved them 14 points clear at the top.
Although van den Heuvel says the team are doing very well, he says there is still a lot of work to do to win the Championship.
"There are still eight games to go, so I'd prefer to be there (top) after eight games rather than now."
Marshalls have been top of the league since they beat their closest rivals Kiveton Park three weeks ago.
But despite beating the then league leaders 'quite comfortably', van den Heuvel admits his side will be pushed all the way for the league title.
"There is really only one game in it," he said, adding: "They (Kiveton) are definitely going to be challenging us to the end."
Next up for Marshalls is a home clash with North Wheatley with Leverton on Saturday.
When the two clubs met back in May, there was nothing to separate them as they played out a draw.
Van den Heuvel, who scored 73 runs that day, says this weekend's opponents will provide stern test of his side's championship credentials.
He said: "They are a very strong battling side and their strength is in their battling, so we'll have to bowl well to win."
The fixture will also be the first game in which the players use the club's new dressing room facility.
But while the Aussie says his teammates are looking forward to the grand opening, he says their minds will be solely on winning the game.
"We are excited about it but just like all games now it is a must-win game," said van den Heuvel.
