Kerry Youth League is getting interesting

THERE were some very interesting results in the Kerry Youth League at the weekend with the previously unbeaten Retford United U8s and Forrest Rangers U8s finally defeated, two of the three U9s games ending in a draw and in the U10s League Blyth dropped from second to fifth showing how competitive it is at the top of this league.
The unbeaten Retford United made the short journey to Babworth for their U8s League fixture and it was the shosts who gained a 2-1 lead which they hung on to in front of a large, well supporting crowd.
Forrest Rangers U8s also lost for the first tim
e against an in-form Ordsall rangers who are now the only U8s team with a 100 per cent record.
Another excellent game saw Gainsborough Trinity narrowly win against Blyth with goals from L. Crossley, L. Bland and G. Housham.
Marshalls found winning form as they defeated Blyton 7-3, B. Warriner (three), T. Carcrash (three) and J. Lylle scoring for the winners.
Ken Ward Sports recorded their second draw of the season as their game with Blyth finished 2-2 in the U9s League, while it was also 2-2 between Gainsborough Trinity and Ordsall Colts, T. Dunderdale and H. Tatton scoring for Trinity.
Forrest defeated Marshalls 9-1 with goals from N. Wright (three), D. Walton (three), J. Green (two) and A. Scott.
In the U10s League Blyton were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat as the unbeaten and in-form Gainsborough Trinity netted 22 goals.
All the credit must once again go too the never-say-die Blyton players who never stopped working, chasing everything and they had excellent parental support.
T. Williams scored nine of the Trinity goals.
Ordsall Terriers'fine 6-0 win away at Forrest Rangers lifts them to second place behind league leaders Gainsborough Trinity.
Ordsall Rangers are still in third place despite their 2-1 defeat in the local Retford derby against Retford United.
