WEST Lindsey Bowls Club held the first of its fun Triples Days on Sunday with 14 teams playing three matches of seven ends.
The team of Joan CLifton, Brenda Allen and Roy Marsh were the only team to win all three matches, 10-7, 7-4 and 7-4, and consequently won the competition.
The Gainsborough Standard Bowls League played an indoor match away to the Scunthorpe League on
Saturday and made a nonsense of supposed home advantage.
They quickly built up an early lead on a surface must faster than most were used to and the longer the match went on the more the aggregate lead for Gainsborough.
At one point the GSBL were winning all six rinks but at the end happily settled for five out of six and a big 136-88 win.
Bishop Norton and District Shor Mat Bowls League
IT was quite a battle when Scawby Orange met South Kelsey Blue in the first round of the cup, Scawby eventually winning 43-41.
Bishop Norton are top of the Southern Division and won quite well away 8-2 to Middle Rasen Tupholme but in their next match lost 10-0 to Lea.
Bishop Norton Yellow beat Middle Rasen Drax 10-0 and Blyton had a good 8-2 win against Hibaldstow.
In the Northern Division early leaders Bottesford Brown beat South Kelsey Red 8-2 while Barnetby Red and South Kelsey Red had to settle for a 5-5 draw.
Other results were: Scawby Orange 2, Scawby Blue 8; Wrawby 8, South Kelsey Blue 2; Waddingham Blue 6, Barnetby Blue 4; Perry's Gold 2, Waddingham Red 8.
