Cycling club stage hill climb championship

GAINSBOROUGH Aegir Cycling Club's annual hill climb championship took place on Sunday.
From a standing start near the railway bridge, the course then ascended up the steep climb to finish near the golf club entrance.
Results: 1, Jim Marshall 1 minute 10.84 seconds; 2, Shaun Pycroft 1-15.04; 3, Geoff Garner 1-36.37; 4, Kieran Sandall 1-39.04; 5, Trevor Halstead 1-55.45.
The Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club Junior Champion is 14-year-old Kieran Sandall, while new club member Jim Marshall is the Senior Champion.
Thanks to the time keepers and officials who made the event possible.
After the hill climb championship race four riders, Trevor Halstead, Daniel Nicholson, Alex Perry and Geoff Garner,enjoyed a ride chosen from the Gainsborough Area cycling Map.
Next week's ride is on Sunday 12th October and is a leisure ride to the CTC AGM - meet Roseway, Gainsborough, at 6.20am. Admiral Rodney in Horncastle for the AGM at 10.30am for 11am start. Please register your intent to ride with Trevor Halstead.
