Andy Lewin is first home in 25-mile Championship

GAINSBOROUGH Aegir Cycling Club's 25 miles Championship race took place on Wednesday 24th June, with riders doing three laps of a circuit which started on Laughton Lane, then through Laughton Forest, Wildsworth and East Stockwith, finishing back at Laughton Lane.
There were some good times recorded and results were: 1, Andy Lewin 1 hour 02 minutes 26 seconds; 2, Shaun Pycroft 1-06-57; 3, Paul Brownless 1-08-56; 4, Mike Overton 1-14-52; 5, Trevor Halstead 1-20-50.

Private trials (non-club members): Steve Ba
rron 1-05-54; Steve Brown (riding trike) 1-23-51.

On Sunday three riders, Trevor Halstead, Daniel Nicholson and Geoff Garner, met at Roseway in Gainsborough to take part in a club mountain bike ride to North Willingham.

After a mixture of road and cross country riding, the trio arrived at their lunch stop at Willingham Fayre, Ashgrove Farm, North Willingham.

Refreshed, the group made their way back to Gainsborough along forest roads and byways to complete a 70-mile ride through some splendid countryside.

On Sunday 5th July there will be a leisure ride to the Brigg area to meet up at the club’s 50-mile time trial – meet Roseway at 7.50am.

On Wednesday 8th July the club’s League 15 and Juvenile eight-mile time trials take place and riders should meet at Laughton Road, Morton, near to the entrance to Croft Farm at 6.45pm.
