Coun Underwood-Frost is taking a very irresponsible attitude in his recent comments urging local people to buy their petrol and diesel in towns other than Gainsborough.
Although the fuel may be a penny or two cheaper, the overall running costs of taking their vehicle to Lincoln probably outweigh any saving made on fuel.
In addition, once in another town they will probably do their regular shopping whilst there, therefore depriving Gainsborough of the revenue being spent and the jobs attached to local businesses put at more risk.
It saddens me to see any business in this town declining or struggling, but to openly encourage spending elsewhere is, to put it mildly, just plain stupid.
