New Year New You? Help to make a difference in 2013 Become a WRVS volunteer!

WRVS are very active in the local community in the Derby area and our friendly, caring volunteers make a real difference throughout the year.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking them for all of their invaluable support and commitment in helping us to deliver our range of important services. For anybody interested in giving some of their time we also have volunteering opportunities available in the area to help older people stay independent in their homes and active in their local community.

We can offer a range of quality opportunities which include working to support older people in their communities in such activities as telephone befriending, community transport, social clubs and administrative support at our new community hub.

Volunteering with WRVS can make a real difference to lives of both the people involved and the people that they help. It is flexible, rewarding and great fun and can, in addition provide significant benefits towards future career and employment aspirations.

We would really like to hear from local people who can spare some time which will help to us to provide services for older people to alleviate social isolation and loneliness and help make Britain a great place to grow old.

WRVS provides full induction and training for all of its activities and travel expenses are paid to all volunteers. For further information please call 01332 279633, the WRVS recruitment line on 0845 6014670 or visit to register to volunteer.
