Boa Van Nguyen, 40, who was originally from Vietnam, was found at his home address on Netherton Road by his brother.

A suicide note left by Mr Nguyen said that he ‘blamed only himself for what had happened’.

Mr Nguyen ran a chain of nail bars in Worksop and Retford and was spared a jail sentence last year after being convicted of dangerous driving when he rammed his own car into that of his estranged wife after seeing her with another man.

However, the inquest at Notts Coroners Court, heard that he had been suffering from stress and issues in both his business and private life in the period leading up to him taking his own life.

A post-mortem also revealed evidence of cocaine use recently before, but not immediately prior to, him taking his life.

The inquest also heard that Mr Nguyen had briefly expressed suicidal thoughts back in 2011 but he had not spoken of anything like that again since.

More recently, the inquest heard, he had been complaining of persistent stomach pains and indigestion and had been prescribed various treatments by local doctors in Worksop.

The detective in charge of the investigation, DC Jann Olsen, told the inquest that concerns about Mr Nguyen had been raised by another family member, who had asked his brother to go round and see if he was alright.

When he got there, his brother discovered Mr Nguyen already dead.

A note found at the scene and written in Vietnamese, made it clear that he wanted to take his own life and that he did not blame his wife or family or anyone else, only himself.

DC Olsen also confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances and no evidence of any third-party involvement.

Summing up, Senior Coronor for Notts, Miss Mairin Casey, said: “It is clear to me that his intention was to end his life.”

“He blames noboy, it was a decision he took himself.”

She recorded a conclusion of suicide.
