The Scottish flag is set to fly over Civic Square in Worksop later this week in support of the union between Scotland and England.
The move is a nod to the Government’s decision to fly the Scottish flag above No 10 until the referendum takes place in a bid to encourage a ‘No’ vote on Scotland gaining independence.
Simon Greaves, leader of Bassetlaw Council, said: “The reason for this is very straightforward.”
“We’re fully in support of the Union as a council and want to show that we are in favour of Scotland remaining part of the UK.”
“This is something that people in all parts of the country should be doing,” he added.
