Worksop: School gets back to nature with grant for tree planting

The School Council at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Worksop were all smiles after getting the good news that their bid to secure funding for trees had been successful.

A grant of £300 was awarded to the school through the Greenwood Community Tree Planting Grant Scheme 2013-14.

The planting of the trees was just part of an on going project to raise children’s awareness for the environment.

School business manager, Caroline Matthews commented that working closely with the School Council was proving to be most enjoyable and that their next project, from a long list of projects they were keen to embark on, would be the creation of a pond area for wildlife study.

The Greenwood Team is offering free advice and funding of up to £500 to help schools, community groups and parish councils with tree planting projects, call 0115 969 6533 or email [email protected]
