Worksop: Rock legends Status Quo have everyone rockin’ all over the park

Although guitarist Rick Parfitt was unable to play due to illness, his legendary Quo co-frontman Francis Rossi was there, along with equally legendary bassist John ‘Rhino’ Edwards, as they went through a whole set of classic hits to the delight of a big crowd.

“The weather was a bit crazy at times but that just added to the event and everyone had a great time,” said a spokesman for the event.

“The band sounded brilliant and it was a great way to start the weekend.”

Status Quo were supported by BabaJack and Toseland – who are fronted by former World Superbike champion James Toseland – and they also went down really well with the crowd.

The next day saw the Flashback Festival take centre stage, headlined by Billy Ocean and Kim Wilde.

A whole host of other 80s stars, including Go West and Midge Ure were also on the bill, as were Doctor and the Medics.

“The Doctor (aka Rev Clive Jackson) also acted as compere for the event and that went down really well with everyone,” continued the spokesman.

“All in all, everyone there had a really good time and the event was great success.”

The weekend concluded on the Sunday with a rather more classical occasion as TV star Aled Jones and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra took the crowd through a special Last Night of The Proms-style concert to bring another highly successful festival to a close.
