The company behind plans for a former day centre in Worksop said a recent blaze which destroyed the building will not impact on its plans.
A huge fire engulfed the former Greenacre Day Centre on Wingfield Avenue on Friday evening.
Six fire engines were at the scene along with the police at the height of the blaze which raged for four hours from 9pm to 1am.
Horizon Care - which wants to build to new care homes on the site, bringing up to 200 jobs to Worksop - has today (Tuesday) said the fire will have no long term impact on its plans.
Laura Higginbottom, managing director of Horizon Care, said: “We are saddened to hear about the fire which occurred at the Greenacres site.”
“The building sustained structural damage but thankfully no one was hurt.”
“We would like to express our thanks to the firefighters involved in tackling the blaze.”
“This will have no impact on our long term plans for the site.”
Notts Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
