A day of dance is coming to North Leverton Windmill next week as part of its 200th anniversary celebrations.
The recently renovated windmill has been milling in the villages of North and South Leverton, Habblesthorpe and Sturton-le-Steeple for two centuries and its trustees have collaborated with Rattlejag Morris to mark the occassion.
Starting at 12pm on Saturday 11th May, the visiting dance sides will meet up at North Leverton’s Royal Oak pub, after which they will progress to the windmill in Mill Lane for an afternoon of English traditional dancing until 5pm.
At 1pm the fair opens with the Leverton Stompers, a group of local school children taught morris and clog dances by members of Rattlejag.
They will be joined by Rattlejag, Harthill Morris, Three Shires Garland and Clog, Tatterfoals Morris and Dukes Dandy Step Clog.
