Wind farm developer wants YOUR opinions

A WIND farm developer has launched a second phase of consultation with residents in Hemswell Cliff.

RWE npower Renewables LTD submitted its planning application for ten turbines to West Lindsey District Council last month.

People can view the application and comment through the authority’s planning department at www.west-lindsey.gov.uk

But RWE wants to find out how communities would spend the funding associated with the wind farm.

The first consultation phase collected views through focus groups and one-to one interviews with a cross section of local residents.

Ideas like improving public transport, funding local apprenticeship schemes, funding educational grants, and improving community facilities were suggested.

Now, an online survey is open for people to complete, and on-street interviewing and paper questionnaires will be done in the community.

“The aim of this second phase of consultation is to gather honest opinions about the key priorities for communities, how the fund should be run, who it should help, which geographical areas it should cover, what type of projects should qualify and who should make the decisions,” said Katy Woodington, RWE npower renewables’ UK community investment manager.

Do the questionnaire at www.hemswellcliff-consultation.co.uk, or look out for the planning application newsletter. Interviewers will also be out and about in the Gainsborough area.
