ONE of the county’s finest pubs has been dazzling diners with crowd-pleasing grub - and the Gainsborough Standard is giving you the chance to win a meal.
The Hume Arms in Torksey, near Gainsborough, has become a favourite for food-lovers, with the Standard giving it a rare five star review when we ate there last year.
Renowned for their astoundingly generous portions and impeccable service, The Hume Arms has become a landmark on the area’s culinary map.
When the Standard reviewed it last year, we wrote: “What you have here is nothing short of something truly excellent: a good, honest, homely, British pub, nestled in the serene heart of rural Lincolnshire.”
‘The Hume Arms offers great food, a great atmosphere and a great evening with remarkable value for money. You couldn’t possibly ask for more.”
Manager Brian Moffat said that diners should expect an unforgettable experience when visiting the restaurant.
“We offer a complete mixture of food that’s both traditional and diverse,” he said.
“With generous portions, well-made food, highly-trained staff and a really friendly atmosphere we’ve got everything, really.”
He continued: “Our most popular dishes are the ‘Codfather’ fish and chips or our home-made steak pies. We also offer two main courses for £12 between 5pm - 6.45pm from Tuesday to Saturday, which people love.”
“People are always saying how great everything has been since we re-opened. We hope more people can come along and experience it and that more people will come back for more.”
