‘Risky Rooms’ is a home-like set-up that demonstrates safe ways of dealing with electrical and cooking appliances, and other aspects of home safety. The facility is at Misterton Fire Station and is open to groups to visit and learn more about how simple measures can greatly reduce the risk of accidents and fire within the home.
And the next phase of the Risky Rooms resource is almost complete - highlighting the hazards in sheds and outbuildings.
A visit to the fire station could also include an opportunity to look around the fire appliance, see the equipment firefighters use, chat with personnel about their role as retained firefighters, and find out what other services are provided within the community. Any groups interested in visiting the Fire Station and Risky Rooms, please contact Andy Horton, Watch Manager, by phone 07881 880383 (mobile) or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
