Volunteers are helping to clean up the streets of Gainsborough

Communities team and volunteers will be hitting the streets of the Uphill area on Saturday, October 22, to pick up as much litter as they can.

The Uphill Big Clean Up will take place from Gainsborough Uphill Community Centre from 11am until 1.30pm.

Organiser, Penny Shaw said: “Saturday is National Make a Difference Day and many people are giving up their Saturday morning to target local litter hotspots and help create cleaner communities for our tenants and residents.

“We would love for people to come and join us and young people from our Firecracker activities to make a difference to their local community.

“We’ll be dividing into teams, spending about an hour cleaning up before returning to the centre for drinks, snacks and to vote on who has won our ‘Clean for Hallowe’en challenge.”
