Two crashes in two days on road in Fenton

EMERGENCY services were called out to Fenton twice in as many days after cars crashed on the same stretch of road.

The A156 Lincoln Road through Fenton, saw two incidents occur just several feet apart in the same week.

The first was on Sunday 13th February at 4.15pm when a red Vauxhall Corsa left the road and collided with a Severn Trent sewage stations. The driver was a 25-year-old Doncaster man who escaped uninjured.

The other was on the evening of Tuesday 15th February at about 8.55pm when emergency services were called to the scene after a Ford Focus had left the road, overturned and rolled into a ditch before the road was closed. The driver was a 26-year-old man from Newtoft near Market Rasen, and the car was also carrying an 18-year-old Lincoln man, a 24-year-old Lincoln man and a 24-year-old woman from Gainsborough. The three passengers were injured and tended to at the scene and the driver was taken to Lincoln County Hospital.

A police spokesman said: “Please drive with care on this stretch on road, and if conditions are bad then please tailor your driving accordingly.”
