Man seriously injured in crash

A MAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Gainsborough involving several vehicles.

Emergency services were called to the the A15 between the turning for Blyborough and Waddingham at around 7.15am on Tuesday 13th December, where a HGV lorry and a bus were involved in a crash.

The bus driver sustained serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital.

The HGV had overturned and the bus was badly damaged in the collision, but luckily there were no passengers on the bus, and no other people were injured.

The A15 was then closed northbound at Caenby Corner and southbound at the B1205, Kirton junction as the crash caused a diesel spillage which required clearing before the road could be re-opened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 43 of 13th December 2011.
