toddlers had a go at putting the crosses on hot cross buns when they visited a supermarket bakery.
Fifteen children aged under five went with the Gainsborough Childminders Group to learn about what goes on behind the scenes at Tesco’s bakery.
Sue Thorpe, who runs the group with Mo Marah, organised the trip as part of their ECAT - Every Child A Talker - training.
Sue, of Balfour Street, Gainsborough, said: “It’s all about helping the under fives with their talking.”
“We encourage them to talk about what they are doing and seeing and it’s amazing the number of new words they pick up.”
The children also put seeds on buns and sugar on doughnuts.
