A BRAND NEW family-friendly play centre for children and young families is set to open this week in Gainsborough.

Playhouse Gainsborough is a new indoor play and party centre for children up to the age of 12-years-old.

The cente on Corringham Road Industrial Estate has a three-level junior play area with a large astra slide, sports area, rope bridges, sky glide, roller bridges and much more.

They also boast a separate toddler and baby area which includes a ball pool, double ‘bumpy’ slide and a range of soft play shapes while parents can relax in their seating area and enjoy their range of food and drinks available from their coffee shop.

The Gainsborough Standard went along to get a sneak peek inside the Playhouse to see children enjoying the new impressive world of adventure.

Stuart Fall from Playhouse Gainsborough said that they were a family-run venture and very focussed on offering something special to families in Gainsborough.

“We set this up and intend to run it as a family, but we’ve also hired nine new jobs to take it from here,” he said.

“The project started in January 2010 when we first found the building and it’s taken us all of that time to change the building from a manufacturing facility into

a child-friendly leisure facility.”

He continued: “We’re very much a family-centred sort of place - that’s our explanation of what people can expect.”

“We have everything. We have a coffee shop where mums and dads can sit and relax while their kids are running around like headless chickens.”

He added: “We just offer a large clean space that’s full of fun and we hope that lots of families come along and enjoy themselves.”

His sister Helen Fall added: “It’s just a wonderful and safe environment for families.

Vicky Ward also works at the Playhouse.

“Speaking as a young mum, I can say that this is brilliant place and this is what I would want and what my friends would want,” she said.

“Right here, no one has to travel very far and we offer people something fun that’s safe, nearby and very affordable.”

“There’s nothing else really like this that’s been established where four and five-year olds can have somewhere to play in town. We’re on your doorstep and you could even walk to it if you wanted to.”

“The Playhouse really does just tick every box - it’s brilliant.”

She continued: “We’ve had loads of cars full of families driving in and wanting to come in but we’re not open yet. I suppose it’s because no one has anywhere in town for their kids to go and play and now they have.”

When The Standard went along to check out The Playhouse, Vicky and Helen’s children were running riot in the large play area - a promising sign of things to come.

“The kids absolutely love it,” she said.

“They are going to be here all of the time. They’re really happy here and never want to leave and I’m sure other kids will feel the same.”

Playhouse Gainsborough will be having it’s grand opening on 10am on Friday 22nd April

“We’re going to have balloons and that kind of thing and we’ll just be having a great grand opening with lots of fun for everyone,” said Stuart.

Playhouse Gainsborough is located at Unit 9, Corringham Road Industrial Estate, Lusher Way.
