A 26-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries near Gainsborough.

Ben Leyden, originally from Prescot in Merseyside, has been charged with five burglary-related offences which took place in Saxilby.

He is accused of three burglaries, which took place on January 6, at houses on St George’s Mew, Sykes Lane and Torksey Avenue.

He is also charged with two attempted burglaries, also on January 6, at Westcroft Drive and Warwick Close.

Leyden was remanded in custody to appear before Lincoln District Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday 7 January).
