The market, which is one of the highlights of the town’s festive season, is to be staged by West Lindsey District Council on Sunday, November 27.

And stalls, selling a variety of Christmas gifts, will be one of the main attractions. The fee is £7 per stall for charities and £10 for businesses, with all those interested asked to e-mail [email protected]

Other festive fun at the market will include live entertainment, real reindeer and giant snowmen, plus of course, the main man himself, Santa Claus.

“The Christmas Market will have something for everyone,” said Coun Sheila Bibb, chairman of the council’s prosperous communities committee. “It will be a fantastic way to get into the Christmas spirit. It will also be a great opportunity to shop local and grab a few unique Christmas gifts nice and early.”

The event follows the switch-on of Gainsborough’s Christmas lights on Friday, November 18 when entertainment throughout the town centre will include fairground rides, food and craft stalls, free face-painting, stilt walkers and horse-and-carriage rides.
