DROUGHT can increase the risk of flash flooding. That’s the message from the Environment Agency which has launched a new Facebook flood warning application.
A world first, FloodAlerts is free to use and posts warnings on the user’s Facebook wall when a flood alert, warning or severe warning is issued in their location.
Dry, compacted soil means water is less easily absorbed into the ground, so any future storms could lead to floods.
To sign up search FloodAlerts on Facebook.
