Selby’s community hospital and civic centre development has won an award for best community building.
The state of the art development, which is a partnership between the NHS and Selby District Council, received the accolade from the LABC North and East Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards.
The awards ceremony was held at the end of June and the development will now go forward to the Yorkshire Regional level, to be considered for the National awards.
Les Chapman, chairman of the North and East Yorkshire judging panel for the awards, said: “The awards are an opportunity to showcase high quality development, sympathetically designed to enhance its environment. Selby’s Community Project is a very worthy winner.”
Mr Lund added: “The development of the building was a major coup for Selby. Our innovative partnership with NHS North Yorkshire and York allowed us to pool resources and deliver a significant project for the people of the district.
“We’re absolutely delighted to win this award,” he added.
