The Lindsey Close school has been praised by inspectors from education watchdog Ofsted for it’s “great support network”.

High praise was also given to the pupils, who were described as a “delight to talk to”.

Holly Ruddlesdin, deputy headteacher, said: “We’re so pleased and proud of everyone for the amount of work they’ve put in to secure this again.

“We believe the school is as good as it has always been and that’s down to the staff working extremely hard.

“We feel we have really good relationships with families and work hard to engage them and help children with their learning.

Inspectors said we are a school at the heart of the community and we’re particularly pleased that this was recognised.”

The school has between 20 and 30 pupils in each class, and opened a new nursery in September called Little Dragons.

Katy Baux, Key Stage Two leader for Years 5 and 6, said: “Our school is all about social mobility, and our vision is to ‘reach for the stars’.

“We’re pleased that in our report it says you have successfully achieved your vision, and children can indeed reach for the stars.

“St George’s is a lovely school and a great place to work.”

Ofsted inspector Di Mullen said the school had raised standards of English, which was previously lagging behind other key subjects.

She commented on how well pupils were developing their skills in sentence structure, grammar and vocabulary.

Katie Barry, headteacher, said: “ We are very proud to have been graded for the third consecutive time as good by Ofsted.

“Our children make excellent progress, have super behaviour and are very proud of their school, as we are of them.”
